Application letter

Now that you know how to face an application letter, in this post you'll find useful language for your writing task, as well as a different model of this type of letter.

And, as I've told you before, here you have the letter with mistakes we've worked with in today's lesson.

Last, but not least, I attach the task instructions to write your own application letter.

So, good luck with your writing task! Just one piece of advice: write by hand, because getting used to using your computer and being corrected by it can give you problems in the long term. We'll talk about it next time.

Enjoy your long weekend!

Vocabulary related to work

As we have already seen models of application letters in class, I thought that you might find these activities interesting, as they'll give you further background on the topic of jobs.

More videos! This is a short speech of Matt Cutts, an engineer working in Google, and who may give you a good idea if you're trying to stick to a new good habit.

You can simply watch the video, or if you want to make it more interesting, you can also do a fill-in-the gaps activity. So, here you have the materials:

How do you feel about his method? Have you ever tried anything similar? Will you try it? Tell us!

Success

Hi! Remember this video? We watched it some weeks ago in class, but I thought that it might be interesting posting used material in case you want to revise it again or didn't come to class that day. What do you think about that, by the way? Let me know in the comments section :)
